On March 1, UFF-UNF presented its salary proposal. The presentation recalls the failure of the university to uphold its strategic plan by providing regular cost of living increases. It also shows how UNF is doing less in this regard than other SUS institutions. The UFF-UNF bargaining team presents data that raises concerns about salary and promotion inequities based on gender and race. The team proposes a timeline for a joint UNF and UFF-UNF study on this matter. As well, the UFF team seeks to end the peculiar and expensive practice of paying former administrators who return to faculty their administrator salaries for jobs they no longer perform. Finally, two UFF Faculty members presented on continuing compression/inversion discrepancies the unfairness of which causes faculty to suffer financially and in terms of morale. They make the case that this would be relatively inexpensive to fix, though it gets more expensive each year that the situation is not addressed.
